Hydrogen Industry Leaders (HIL) is dedicated to driving advancements that will unlock hydrogen’s full potential, enabling widespread adoption in both stationary and mobile applications. Rhino HySafe exhibited at the most recent HIL event, HIL: Europe, held on June 4th in London, where industry leaders gathered to discuss cutting-edge technologies and forging partnerships.
Strategic Representation at a Key Industry Event
Andrew Davies, General Manager of Rhino HySafe and Chris Norris, Group Chief Engineer, represented the company at the event.
The conference was a fantastic platform for meaningful dialogue about the technical challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the hydrogen industry. The event brought together the entire hydrogen supply chain, encompassing researchers, technology developers, EPC contractors, and end users.
Andrew Davies, General Manager of Rhino HySafe, said: “It was an excellent event, and we spoke to several EPC/Principal Designers working on live hydrogen projects who needed explosion venting solutions, particularly on hydrogen compressor installations where the equipment needs to be enclosed to meet environmental considerations, namely noise pollution.”
Hydrogen Safety and Sustainability
The discussions at HIL: Europe emphasised how safety and environmental considerations are becoming increasingly intertwined in hydrogen project design. As the industry matures, project developers are realising that comprehensive safety solutions are not just regulatory requirements but essential components of sustainable hydrogen infrastructure.
The need for enclosed hydrogen compressor systems represents a perfect example of this. While these meet environmental standards and gain community acceptance, they require sophisticated explosion venting systems to ensure safe operation. This creates opportunities for companies like ours that specialise in bridging the gap between safety requirements and practical implementation.
HIL: Europe proved to be a valuable investment for Rhino HySafe, providing insights into market trends, regulatory developments, and specific technical challenges facing the industry. The event’s focus on practical solutions and real-world applications aligned perfectly with our approach to supporting the hydrogen sector.
As the hydrogen economy continues to expand, HIL events will remain crucial for fostering the relationships and understanding necessary to overcome technical challenges and accelerate the adoption of hydrogen. Rhino HySafe’s active participation in these events shows our commitment to playing a vital role in creating both a safe and sustainable hydrogen infrastructure.
